Baseline Permission Changes in Primavera P6 v24
If you’re a longtime user of Primavera P6, you may have noticed that there’s been a change to the ability to update your baselines.
In the past, anyone with the permission to create and assign a project baseline was able to make changes to that baseline. In version 24, Oracle has added a new security setting to users’ Project Security Profile that lets you set whether a user is allowed to make changes to a baseline.

Furthermore, there are more features available in the Update Baselines window.
The first change is a cosmetic overhaul. The Update Baselines window is much larger and less cramped. It can be collapsed and expanded as needed, and your options have been changed from basic and advanced tabs into a more detailed breakdown of your updating options.

There’s also a preview button now that lets you see which activities are going to be affected by your changes, and how. This is a welcome change that adds transparency into what exactly is going to be changing in your project.

You can also print a basic report to show all of the changes that are going to take place.
