Oracle Primavera Cloud (OPC) Global Change - Familiar?
From there you can use ‘Get Global Changes’ to retrieve a copy of an existing Global Change from another project. You can also build your own Global Change.
In this example, we will create a new Global Change. Click +Add and enter the Global Change name and details.
This Global Change evaluates whether an activity is on the critical path. If it is, the Executive Visibility code is assigned to tag the activity to the applicable reports.
Click Run. The dialogue box below is displayed. Click the Confirm checkbox, then click Run.
The dialogue box below is displayed. Click OK.
Once complete, the Global Change log is generated and can be accessed from the Notifications panel, Inbox, and Manage Services page. Click to access the Item sections that you want to review.
Once the Global Change is complete, you can view the code assignments in the activities page. See the screenshot below for an example of a code assignment done by the Global Change.
If you are familiar with Global Change functionality in P6 Client, you will notice that the Global Change functionality in OPC is reduced. For example, while P6 Client has the if-then-else configuration, OPC has only if-then. P6 Client has the three condition parameter areas compared to OPC’s two. There are several Global Changes for specific scenarios that you may use and be familiar with in P6, which cannot be created in OPC.
It is beneficial to be familiar with the available functionality in the software, so that you can utilize it to your best advantage.
