The client is one of the largest ferry operators in the world, and supports many tourism, commerce, and residential needs. Providing ferry transport to thousands of people and vehicles daily is no easy task, and ensuring that customers have a good experience required overhauling customer service programs. This large IT program had many moving parts and the team needed to find a way to ensure that all of the projects within the programs were being managed consistently to meet very tight timelines.

Founded in the early 1900s, this company provides a comprehensive list of services that includes general contracting, construction management, design-build services, facility management, and renovation and refurbishment. They have been involved in a variety of significant projects across Canada.

The team was running three separate databases, addressing user access and Primavera P6 maintenance in each one.

The cloud option allowed them to easily consolidate three individual Primavera P6 databases into one. What were three separate databases now run from one database and all users are assigned the security profile applicable for the projects they look after.

Efficient project management and budget updates made possible through synchronization of project data, estimates, tasks, resources, expenses, and forecasting.
Projects created in Oracle Fusion and integrated with project estimates and tasks from P6 on-premise using Oracle Fusion API and
EAI P6 Cloud API. Actual resources and expenses costs sent from Oracle Fusion into P6 and P6 forecasting sent into Oracle Fusion. Both project and ledger currencies managed, as well as hours for labour and equipment resources.

- Resources - auto-create any new resources labour, materials, and equipment that are assigned within Oracle Fusion Resource Assignments - create and update resource assignments including percent complete forecasting to allow resource management and estimate accountability

- P6 → Oracle Fusion - allow revising the budget in P6 and updating the Fusion budget automatically.
