Emerald Associates recently attended the 8th International Petroleum Technology Conference in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia in December 2014.

The conference was held in the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre not far from the site of the famous Petronas Towers and drew over 10,000 attendees.

Companies from the region and around the world flocked to the event to see the latest tools, technology and strategies that are being used in the field to help oil and gas companies access ever harder and harder to reach oil.

There remained an air of optimism among attendees and presenters as the elephant in the room, the current price of oil, was a frequent topic of conversation. With oil and gas services companies heavily represented at the conference, many were hoping for a quick bounce back in prices before effects of the drop were felt too hard.

With 40% of the world’s capital projects coming from the Asia pacific, there remains growing demand for Emerald’s innovative tools and services in the region.
