Working in the field is such an amazing and rewarding experience. I recently returned from a large turnaround project that was implemented by one of Emerald’s largest customers in Fort McMurray.

The proper management of resources on a turnaround project is vital to its success. Levelling functionality of Primavera P6 is heavily utilized by planners and schedulers to make sure the deadlines set by the turnaround (TA) management are met and resources are utilized in the optimum way.

A turnaround is a very large undertaking. The first and foremost priority must be safety. Always keeping that in mind, the team must address all aspects of the in scope (known work) as well as found work (which has the potential for a few surprises!). Scheduling of such an event is a must!

We are just at the beginning of a project to migrate our client's Primavera databases and applications onto multiple Oracle Database Appliance X4-2s (ODAs) and Oracle ZFS Storage Appliance ZS3-2s (ZSAs) in multiple datacenters, implementing the Oracle Maximum Availability Architecture to ensure the highest standard of availability is maintained. They have had issues in the past with their system becoming unavailable during a turnaround and they have acquired these appliances and contracted Emerald Associates to ensure that experience is not repeated.

As a continuation to Funding and Unifier Part 1 where we discussed how to track funds at the company level, we will now discuss funds at the project level, including how to allocate funds to a project, the approval workflow, and how to assign funds at the WBS Level.

This can be used to increase information security throughout the business process. This series of blog posts will explore these security features which can be designed in Unifier uDesigner.

When an action is taken during a business process, such as Send for Approval, the workflow proceeds to the next step. As a result, the user that was selected in the workflow action will receive a notification in their tasks folder in Unifier. An email will also be sent to the user’s external email account, as specified in their user profile.

Business process workflows can be customized in uDesigner to meet project requirements. The workflow is comprised of steps, where users input information on forms and actions. Once information has been inputted, users can choose to send information or trigger processes.
